From this post, we are less than three weeks away from one of Xbox’s biggest game releases from Bethesda Studios. The high level of anticipation can lead some with a more disposable income to start experiencing small pieces of the game already. The merchandise train is fully underway as some are looking for tangible ways to appreciate the game early and collecting its memorabilia. As we all watched the extended look at the game from Summer Game Fest, we were introduced to pre-order options with even the game’s own smart watch! If that’s too pricey for most people, there are still other ways to go all-in to a Starfield theme and enjoy the game in other ways.
Bethesda’s merch includes its own fashion line with hats, jackets, patches, and shirts that would be a fun addition to your collection. If you already bought in and know you’re going to be as smitten about the game like you were Skyrim, then you might as well get your favorite item to show your affection earlier than later. Some items have already sold out but Bethesda may have no limit to the Starfield brand. A gaming chair is also in the works and recently announced during Quakecon from Noblechairs.

The other merch previously revealed is the official Xbox headset and controller that are also already available. The aesthetic of the game has been described as “NASA Punk” and it’s nice to see that style shown on some new hardware for the console.

As time progresses, there may be more interesting collections for the game if you’re into that sort of thing. Curiously enough, there’s a Seagate external hard drive that is compatible with the Xbox but isn’t an SSD and looks like it needs a power adapter. Still, the 8TB capacity is nice but it is unimaginable to rely on legacy equipment to load up Starfield.

For a more budget-friendly route, there are looser based items that would do well for a proper Starfield ambience. Hanging up your favorite still from the game or a star lamp will get you in the space-faring mood as well. Making a themed playlist on Spotify doesn’t have to cost anything and those long space trips from star system to star system would need some excellent music.
Any word on a console edition for the Series X? There could be a potential version listed soon for the holiday season or at least some may hope. It may go without saying now, but you can always pay more for the premium edition to play Starfield during the Labor Day weekend and playing as early as September 1st while Xbox game pass members will be able to play a day early on the 5th. So, what creative or expensive ways are you preparing for the game’s release? Is it all absurd to you? Let us know in the comments.
Thanks, -m.
